I believe we as women have been given superpowers when we become moms and even spouses. We find strength we didn't even know we possessed in order to give our children and spouses what they need. But with that strength comes a weakness that can harm us if we are not careful and that is personal neglect. We as mommies and spouses have a habit of neglecting ourselves for our children, and sometimes our spouses. We put their lives on a pedestal to lift them up never expecting a hand to help us up. We work so hard to make others be great while forgetting about the rags we have on. In 2019 no more. In this blog we will deal with how to not neglect yourselves so the whole family you can all win.
You must schedule in personal time for yourself. In this personal time you can unwind and really process what you have been dealing with in life, and make better decisions for yourself and your family. Understand this you are no good to anyone on empty. If you give your portion that God has given you for you to others you have nothing left for yourself and it causes you to suck the life out of yourself for others. Eventually if you don't care for yourself you will combust with frustration or have a mental breakdown. But when you allow time for personal reflections it gives God access to give you overflow so that you have more to share with your family and others. You deserve to have personal time. Try to give yourself at least an hour a day. If you have to put your kids to bed early or wake up earlier to have your time do it.
I believe this ideal to every woman's success. You may not be able to do it monthly or weekly due to not having a babysitter but aim for at least to do it quarterly even if its for a few hours. This is not a time you use to be with your boo. It is a time for you to get a away from your home family functions. DO NOT go shopping for your kids or your spouse!!! I don't care what you see on sale. DO NOT CALL EVERY FEW MINUTES TO CHECK ON THEM!!! I know it's hard. This is a time that is ALL ABOUT YOU! I know some of you mommies are saying to yourself "What can I do?", "I'm on a budget!", and/or "I just don't know what to do!". Here are some things you can do without breaking the bank:
This is an area I personally have struggled with. It is very important as a woman to keep yourself groomed especially if you have children. You are their example of how a wife and mother are to look like. I have learned that beauty is skinned deep but it does help your confidence when it matches on the outside. Set time to get your hair and nails done if you can't go to the shop their YouTube videos that can help you along the way. Their are tools out there you can use to do a mani-pedi, or to make sure your hair looks nice not matter the texture or length. If you want to wear makeup you can do that. If there is a look you want to go for now a days there are nice thrift or bargain store you can go to achieve your look. If you don't like the way you look there are video that can help you with meal plans to help you get into shape with no gym commitment. In this day and age mommies you no longer have anymore excuses to not looking your best.
You deserve it! You are worth the investment! Time to live your best life!
Let get to work!
